Simon is very different but is an extraordinary symbol in this book. He is very innocent, tranquil, and in tune with the island. Throughout the book he explores the island by himself and is admired by the nature and views he sees. Simon was not on Ralph's side nor Jack's. Simon represents peace in the book because he is always nice to the littluns and does anything he can to better the community/ civilization. Simon encounters the "Lord of The Flies" but because he was alone the boys were caught of guard when Simon came down to tell them. Without even thinking all the boys attacked him and he died. Simon brought the symbol savagery into the book because he shows how from the beginning of the book all the boys are united and following rules; as soon as they break apart they're savages and its every man for himself.
